Ichimai Nerikawa kabuto,Edo period 1603-1868

This is a kabuto made in leather /nerikawa from the Jidai period,single-plate boiled then black laquered and gilded on the mabisashi.

A superb kabuto with a detailed gilded hiramaki-e dragon in the clouds with 2 crests on the mabisashi.

Note the folded fukigaeshi, it can move easier for use a long yumi bow .Assiociated with decorative horsehair, the owner was certainly an archer.

The shikoro is composed of 5 iron plates black laquered in nami-gaeshi shape with kebiki blue lacing.

Associated with an iron hanpo Edo period with lines yasurime .

The yodare-kake is composed of iron with 3 plates black laquered.

The maedate join is in antique thin copper with age patina.
